The rap veteran expressed serious concerns about the current climate in hip-hop and celebrity culture, noting that many industry legends and mentors are facing unprecedented scrutiny. He emphasized how the landscape has dramatically changed, making celebrity status less desirable than ever before.

"I woke up [in] 2024 feeling like [...] it's been a horrible year," Joe stated. "This might be the worst year ever in hip-hop history type shit. This shit bad. All our legends, all our mentors getting scrutinized."

Joe also addressed the recent public situation between his friends Remy Ma and Papoose, explaining his decision to maintain distance despite being their daughter's godfather. "It's a hard situation," he explained. "Nobody comes to my house and tells my wife shit. This is your husband. I can't get in the middle of that."

In response to Joe's comments, Papoose later clarified, "Peace to my brother Fat Joe; I think y'all misunderstood his interview," suggesting that the situation might not be as severe as initially interpreted.

The rapper's observations highlight the growing challenges celebrities face in an era of increased public scrutiny and social media exposure, warning aspiring celebrities to reconsider their pursuit of fame in today's climate.
