Dame Dash Reveals R. Kelly Collaboration Led to Split with Jay-Z: "I Knew That Was Going to Blow Up"
Dame Dash attributes his split from Jay-Z primarily to the latter's collaboration with R. Kelly, as revealed in a recent interview with 'The Art of Dialogue.'

The main point of contention was R. Kelly's controversial marriage to Aaliyah, Dame's ex-girlfriend, when she was 15 years old. Dash expressed his disbelief at Jay-Z's willingness to work with R. Kelly despite knowing these circumstances.
"The fact that Jay was fucking with him is what used to blow my mind more than anything," Dash stated. He confronted Jay-Z about the collaboration, questioning how he could work with someone who had been involved with Aaliyah.
When pressed about Jay-Z's response, Dash revealed that Jay-Z simply denied involvement, saying, "He was like, 'yo I ain't have nothing to do with that.'" This response ultimately led to Dash's voluntary departure from Roc-A-Fella Records.
Recent developments show that Dash's share in Jay-Z's album "Reasonable Doubt" sold at auction for $1 million. The proceeds will go toward settling his $8.7 million tax debt, an $800,000 lawsuit settlement, and $145,000 in unpaid child support.
Currently, Jay-Z faces separate legal challenges, defending himself against allegations related to an incident at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, which were recently included in an amended civil lawsuit.
