The GoFundMe was created for Griffin Goldsmith (Moore's brother-in-law) and his wife Kit, who lost everything to the Eaton fire. The situation is particularly urgent as they are expecting their first child in the coming weeks. Griffin, a touring musician, also lost his entire drum collection and percussion equipment needed for his livelihood.

Moore addressed critics on Instagram, explaining that she and her family are already helping, but shared the fundraiser because people asked how they could contribute. The campaign, started by their friend Matt, has already exceeded its $60,000 goal.

Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith's own Altadena home, located 30 miles east of Pacific Palisades, also suffered significant damage. While their main house remains standing but uninhabitable, they lost their garage, back house, and Taylor and Griffin's music studio containing all their instruments and equipment.

The wildfire situation in the Los Angeles metropolitan area remains critical, with containment at only 13%. Moore expressed survivor's guilt, noting that while their damage was substantial, many others, including everyone on their street, lost everything.
