Diddy's Attorney Withdraws From Defense Team, Citing Inability to Represent Embattled Mogul
Sean "Diddy" Combs' defense attorney Anthony Ricco has filed a motion to withdraw from representing the mogul in his ongoing criminal sex-trafficking and racketeering case. The motion was submitted on February 20, with Ricco stating firmly, "Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs."

The withdrawal request requires judicial approval, and Ricco has not provided specific reasons for his departure, likely due to attorney-client privilege constraints. The decision came after discussions with Combs' lead counsel, Marc Agnifilo.
Ricco assured the court that his withdrawal won't impact the trial's May 5 start date, as Combs still maintains representation from five other attorneys.
Currently, Combs faces serious charges related to allegedly drugging women and forcing them into sex work. The 54-year-old has pleaded not guilty but remains in custody without bail since his September arrest following federal raids on his properties. If convicted, he faces 15 years to life in prison.
Beyond the criminal charges, Combs faces approximately 40 civil lawsuits from individuals alleging drug-facilitated sexual assault. While one recent case involving Jay-Z was withdrawn, numerous others remain active. Combs and his legal team continue to deny all allegations.
