Diddy Faces Potential Federal Indictment as DOJ Prepares Grand Jury in Criminal Investigation
Federal investigators are preparing for a grand jury trial against Sean 'Diddy' Combs, according to CNN sources familiar with the investigation. The Department of Justice may be seeking an indictment as accusers are being called to testify in New York City.

The investigation, led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), extends beyond previous civil lawsuits to include:
- Sex trafficking
- Money laundering
- Illegal drugs
- Organized crime activity
In March, federal agents raided Combs' homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of the investigation. Sources indicate investigators are meticulously gathering evidence from:
- Video footage from searched residences
- Witness testimonies
- Related civil lawsuits
Since November, Combs has faced eight civil lawsuits, with seven specifically alleging sexual assault. Two cases have been settled, including one filed by former girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
Sources close to the investigation emphasize its broader scope, stating, "It's much bigger than just these lawsuits." Investigators are reportedly building a "bulletproof" case before proceeding with any indictment.
While HSI declined to comment on the grand jury specifically, they confirmed the investigation remains active. Combs and his legal team continue to deny all accusations, though he issued an apology following the release of surveillance footage showing his 2016 assault on Cassie.
