Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Soundtrack Brings '90s Rock and Grunge Nostalgia
Composer Jack Wall brings a nostalgic '90s feel to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's soundtrack, perfectly matching the game's Gulf War setting.

Conductor leads orchestra in recording studio
Wall, who has scored every Black Ops game since 2012, created approximately 160 minutes of original music for this installment. The soundtrack combines cinematic orchestration with early '90s musical elements, blending late '80s synth sounds with emerging grunge influences.
To achieve an authentic '90s alternative rock sound, Wall collaborated with alt-rock duo ROMES, whom he describes as "a modern-day Nirvana." Together they co-wrote several tracks, including the multiplayer theme "Raining the Fire."
The score is structured around two key pieces: the main theme and the multiplayer track. While 20 minutes of music accompanies the multiplayer mode, the majority enhances the single-player campaign's cinematic experience.
Wall's expertise stems from his extensive background in music production. Before becoming a game composer, he worked at prestigious studios like Synchro Sound Studios in Boston and Skyline Studios NYC, where he engineered for artists including John Cale, David Byrne, Dr. John, and Patti Smith.
