BLACKPINK's Rosé Exits KOMCA Following Major Solo Success - YG Plus Stock Soars
Blackpink's Rosé has officially withdrawn her music from the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), marking a significant shift in her career management amid her growing international success.

The withdrawal process began in October 2024 and was finalized in late January 2025. Rosé, who maintains her YG Entertainment contract as part of Blackpink while having a solo deal with Atlantic Records, becomes only the second artist to leave KOMCA since Seo Tai-ji's departure in 2003.
The decision appears strategically aligned with Rosé's international success, particularly following her English-language hit "APT." featuring Bruno Mars, which has accumulated 1.24 billion Spotify streams in just over four months. Industry insiders suggest the move may be motivated by KOMCA's lengthy payment processing times for U.S. earnings, which can take "six months to a year."
Rosé's solo success is reflected in her impressive 63.88 million monthly Spotify listeners, surpassing Blackpink's collective 16.41 million. Her fellow members also maintain strong individual followings: Jennie (42.47 million), Lisa (23.25 million), and Jisoo (7.87 million).
The news has positively impacted YG Entertainment's market performance, with its stock (KOSDAQ: 122870) rising 44.5% over the past year. Additionally, YG Plus subsidiary (KRX: 037270) has seen a 36% increase since the KOMCA announcement.
Blackpink fans can look forward to the group's comeback tour, scheduled to begin in Seoul on July 5th, demonstrating the group's continued collective strength alongside their individual successes.
