The sale is part of Salem Media Group's larger $160 million debt reduction strategy, which includes selling seven Christian music stations to EMF. The Fish has been serving the Atlanta community with contemporary Christian music for 24 years.
Hosts Kevin Avery and Taylor Scott announced their final broadcast will be January 31st, expressing gratitude for their time providing "Good, Clean, Fun" to listeners.
Salem CEO David Santrella explained that this strategic exit from the contemporary Christian music format will significantly improve the company's balance sheet and capital structure. The deal also brings new opportunities through partnership with EMF, which operates K-LOVE and Air1 networks across all 50 states.
Salem co-founder Edward G. Atsinger praised EMF's track record of delivering quality Christian music content. EMF currently owns and operates over 1,000 radio signals nationwide.
