Adidas has reached an out-of-court settlement with Ye (formerly Kanye West), ending all legal proceedings between the parties. According to CEO Bjorn Gulden, no money will exchange hands as part of the agreement, and both parties will "move on."
The settlement resolves multiple lawsuits that emerged after Adidas terminated its partnership with Ye following his antisemitic comments on social media and in interviews.
Financial Times reports that Adidas received over $108 million (€100 million) from unwinding a previous provision related to the legal issues. This amount, along with an additional €150 million, will be directed to charity through an independent non-profit foundation established by Adidas to promote social and environmental progress.
Adidas plans to sell its remaining Yeezy stock by the end of this year, marking the final chapter of the relationship. The company reports strong sales growth in China and the US for the quarter ending in September, with CEO Gulden noting the third quarter was "very strong" and "better than expected."
