Avex Expands US Presence: Acquires S10 Music Publishing and Names Brandon Silverstein as New LA Division CEO
Japanese entertainment giant Avex has acquired S10 Music Publishing and launched a new Los Angeles-based division, Avex Music Group (AMG), with Brandon Silverstein appointed as CEO.
This acquisition follows Avex's strategic investment in S10 Entertainment last May through Avex USA. The deal includes the complete acquisition of S10 Music Publishing's catalog and an increased stake in S10 Management, making Avex the largest shareholder alongside Silverstein and Roc Nation.

Key aspects of the deal:
- Avex Music Group (AMG) will be based in Los Angeles
- Brandon Silverstein joins as CEO and board member
- Avex USA employees will integrate into AMG
- S10's existing team operations remain unchanged
- S10 Management maintains separate staff under Silverstein's leadership
- S10 Records stays independent under Silverstein's ownership
Avex CEO Katsumi Kuroiwa commented: "Since forming our strategic partnership with Brandon Silverstein in 2020, we have strengthened our presence in the U.S. market. By deepening our commitment and entrusting Brandon to lead our U.S. operations, we are positioning Avex as a potent force in the international music landscape."
This strategic move represents a significant expansion of Avex's global footprint while maintaining the independence of certain S10 divisions under Silverstein's leadership.
