Country star Zach Bryan has made history by selling over 112,000 tickets in just two-and-a-half hours for his upcoming concert at Michigan Stadium, putting him in position to potentially break the U.S. record for largest single-act concert attendance.

The September 27 show at "The Big House" will be the first-ever concert held at the venue, which is the largest stadium in the United States and third-largest in the world. Bryan will be joined by John Mayer and other special guests, with ticket prices ranging from $55 to over $1,000.

The setup includes 107,000 seats in the main bowl plus an additional 5,500 seats configured on the field. If all attendees show up, Bryan could surpass George Strait's current U.S. concert attendance record of 110,905, set at Texas A&M University's Kyle Field last summer.

"You guys just sold out the biggest show in American history," Bryan shared on Instagram. "I owe you my life, my humility, and every ounce of effort I have. I love y'all more than any song."

University of Michigan's Athletic Director Warde Manuel expressed excitement about the historic event, noting that the venue had been studying concert hosting possibilities for several years. The show is being produced in partnership with AEG Presents and the university's athletic department.

The current single-act concert attendance record progression:

  • Grateful Dead: 107,019 (1977, New Jersey raceway)
  • George Strait: 110,905 (2023, Texas A&M University)
  • Zach Bryan: Potential 112,000+ (2024, Michigan Stadium)
