
D'Angelo, Lenny Kravitz, and Meek Mill Headline Star-Studded Roots Picnic 2025 in Philadelphia
The Roots Picnic festival is returning to Philadelphia's Mann in Fairmount Park for 2025, featuring an impressive lineup of music legends and contemporary artists.
D'Angelo will headline alongside The Roots, while rock icon Lenny Kravitz will perform hits from his extensive catalog, including material from his latest album "Blue Electric Light." Philadelphia native Meek Mill is set to make his Roots Picnic debut.

The festival's diverse lineup includes:
- GloRilla, supporting her album "Glorious"
- International sensation Tems
- Hip-hop artists Latto, Kaytranada, Jeezy, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz
- R&B performers Musiq Soulchild and Jagged Edge
- Rising stars Kur, Elmiene, and Lay Banks
- Special performances by Backyard Band featuring CeeLo Green and Crystal Waters

The 2024 edition received significant acclaim, with Rolling Stone praising it as "a bountiful celebration of Black music" and the Philadelphia Inquirer declaring it "a smashing success and central part of Philadelphia's cultural life." Last year's festival featured memorable performances from André 3000, Lil Wayne, Jill Scott, and others, with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro formally recognizing The Roots' contributions to Philadelphia's arts and culture.
Organizers have indicated that additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
