Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino must testify in the Astroworld tragedy case after the Texas Supreme Court denied the company's petition to block his deposition. The ruling comes as part of the ongoing litigation surrounding the 2021 festival incident that resulted in 10 deaths and hundreds of injuries.

While Live Nation argued that Rapino was too high-level an executive to be involved in the case, victims' attorneys presented evidence of his direct involvement, including a crucial email he sent on the night of the disaster. In this email, Rapino wrote, "If 5 died we would cancel," regarding the decision to continue or cancel the festival.

The incident occurred during Travis Scott's headlining performance at the 2021 Astroworld festival. Hundreds of lawsuits seeking billions in damages have been filed against Live Nation, Scott, and other parties involved. While some cases have reached private settlements, others continue to move toward jury trials.

The date for Rapino's deposition has not yet been scheduled.
