The organization has already raised nearly $4 million for the endowment fund, including a six-figure donation from Paramount. This independence marks the culmination of a strategic shift that began in 2019 when the organization removed VH1 from its name to diversify its funding sources.

Key achievements and current status:

  • Invested over $75 million in 2,800+ school music programs
  • Operates in 285+ school districts across the United States
  • Doubled school reach since 2019, funding 600+ new programs
  • 95% of 2024 budget comes from non-Paramount sources

Major funding partners now include:

  • Community-based foundations
  • Major record labels
  • Live Nation and AEG Presents
  • Tech companies (Amazon, TikTok, Meta)
  • $2 million grant from MacKenzie Scott

To celebrate this transition, Save the Music is hosting a giveaway campaign on the Propeller platform through February, featuring auction prizes from artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Denzel Curry, Patti LaBelle, and Blake Shelton. All proceeds will support new music programs nationwide as the organization begins its independent chapter.

Executive Director Henry Donahue emphasizes the organization's continued commitment to making music education accessible, noting that "the music room is a special place" where students demonstrate creativity, thoughtfulness, and optimism across all participating schools from the Bronx to Los Angeles.
