
Recording Academy, MusiCares Launch $1M Fire Relief Fund for LA Music Community
The Recording Academy and MusiCares have pledged $1 million to launch the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort, supporting music professionals affected by the devastating wildfires in the LA area.

Over 2,000 homes have been destroyed in the Palisades and Eaton fires, including numerous recording studios and equipment belonging to music industry professionals. The initiative aims to provide both immediate and long-term assistance to affected individuals.
Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy and MusiCares, emphasized the music community's commitment to supporting its members during this crisis. Laura Segura, executive director of MusiCares, highlighted the organization's dedication to providing both emergency assistance and ongoing support.
Eligibility Requirements for Financial Aid:
- Minimum 5 years of music industry employment history
- Or 6 commercially released recordings/videos/singles
- Available to producers, live crew, tour bus drivers, managers, agents, A&R, makeup artists, costume designers, music video creatives, technicians, and other music industry professionals
