A former preschool teacher, Wallace dedicated her life to preserving and protecting her son's legacy following his tragic murder in 1997. She became a prominent figure in the hip-hop community, accepting the MTV Video Music Award for Biggie's Life After Death album and working alongside Afeni Shakur, Tupac's mother, to promote unity among fans.

Her contributions to her son's legacy included:

  • Establishing the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation
  • Supporting mothers who lost children at a young age
  • Contributing to the 2018 film "City of Lies," which investigated police coverups related to Biggie's death

In her final years, Wallace remained vocal about industry issues, notably criticizing Sean "Diddy" Combs amid his legal troubles. In her last public statement to Rolling Stone in May, she expressed disappointment in Combs, who had worked closely with her son during his career.

Wallace's passing marks the end of an era, 26 years after the death of her son, Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace, who was killed in a drive-by shooting on March 9, 1997, at age 24. Her enduring impact on hip-hop culture and dedication to preserving her son's memory has left an indelible mark on the music industry.
