Netflix Debuts Beyoncé's NFL Halftime Show as Standalone Special 'Beyoncé Bowl'
Netflix has released a standalone special called "Beyoncé Bowl," featuring the artist's 13-minute halftime performance from the Christmas Day NFL game between the Texans and Ravens in Houston.
The performance, which peaked at over 27 million U.S. viewers according to Nielsen figures, was part of Netflix's exclusive Christmas Day NFL broadcast package, for which the streaming platform reportedly paid $150 million.

The special event also featured performances from Mariah Carey, who opened with a pre-recorded version of "All I Want for Christmas Is You," and Post Malone. Netflix plans to release worldwide ratings and additional U.S. insights on December 31st.
This move aligns with Netflix's expanding presence in live entertainment, following recent concert specials from Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter, and an upcoming Avicii documentary. With Netflix securing Christmas Day NFL broadcasts through 2026, this platform could become a significant stage for artists to showcase new releases and promote tours.
While not as prominent as the Super Bowl halftime show, which has boosted careers for artists like Usher and Kendrick Lamar, these Christmas Day performances offer artists a valuable platform to reach millions of viewers. The success of this initiative might signal Netflix's deeper expansion into live concert streaming and music content in the future.
