Legendary music producer Quincy Jones has died at age 91 in his Bel Air home, surrounded by family and friends. The 28-time Grammy winner leaves behind an extraordinary legacy spanning over six decades in the music industry.

Jones' illustrious career included collaborations with iconic artists like Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, Ray Charles, and Michael Jackson. He produced some of music's most successful albums, including Jackson's "Off the Wall" (1979), "Thriller" (1982), and "Bad" (1987).

Beyond music production, Jones made significant contributions to film, producing and scoring "The Color Purple" (1985) among many other projects. His most recent film score was for "Lola" in February 2024.

Industry leaders and fellow artists have shared tributes:

"We have lost one of the all time greats," said Darius Rucker. "The world will miss Quincy Jones."

Actor Michael Caine described him as "a titan in the musical world" and "a wonderful and unique human being."

Warner Chappell executives praised Jones as "a producer, artist, composer, and activist, but above all, he was a songwriter" whose "extraordinarily powerful, diverse body of work will light the way for future generations."

Jones' family statement noted: "Through his music and his boundless love, Quincy Jones' heart will beat for eternity."
