The innovative project will feature AI-generated songs that play only once and never repeat, available exclusively through FM radio in specific locations and time periods. Each track will be crafted using artificial intelligence trained on Fiasco's distinctive rapping techniques and musical patterns.
This initiative comes alongside Fiasco's expanding presence in academia. He will join Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Institute as a Distinguished Visiting Professor in Fall 2025, teaching rap as part of their new 4-year Hip Hop Degree Program. He continues his existing roles teaching at MIT and maintaining his fellowship at Yale.
At MIT, Fiasco's 'Rap Theory and Practice' class has already established a comprehensive curriculum where students:
- Create complete rap music compositions
- Write and record lyrics
- Perform their work
- Produce EP-length albums
- Analyze existing rap music
- Participate in workshop discussions
While the AI radio station announcement has received mixed reactions from fans concerned about its impact on human artists, it represents a unique intersection of artificial intelligence, music, and education in hip-hop culture.
