LA Wildfires Force Over 50 UMG Employees From Their Homes, Including Chairman Lucian Grainge
Over 50 Universal Music Group (UMG) employees have been displaced by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, with many losing their homes entirely. UMG Chairman Lucian Grainge, a 15-year Pacific Palisades resident, has cancelled his European business meetings to remain in Los Angeles and coordinate support efforts.

Grainge has assembled a team including Jody Gerson, Eric Hutcherson, John Janick, Monte Lipman, Boyd Muir, and Will Tanous to organize assistance for affected employees. The company's operational base in Santa Monica is partially under evacuation orders.
The current situation remains critical:
- 24 confirmed deaths
- Dozens still missing
- 92,000 people under mandatory evacuation orders
- 89,000 additional people under evacuation warnings
- Affected area spans from Ventura to San Diego
- Combined fires (Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst) have burned approximately 60 square miles
Cal Fire advises the entire region to prepare for possible evacuation orders as firefighters continue their efforts to contain the blazes.
In his message to employees, Grainge emphasized the company's resilience: "We are strong, we will continue to be brave, and as always, we will march on together!"
