This collaboration builds on Lamar's existing relationship with Marvel, following his work on the Black Panther soundtrack in 2018. The announcement comes after Lamar's record-breaking Super Bowl halftime performance, which saw a 3% increase in viewership compared to Usher's 2024 show.

While details about the new track remain under wraps, Mackie praised "the beauty and mastery of [Lamar's] craft." The film, which releases this Friday (February 14), will feature Lamar's "N95" in its teaser trailer, though Mackie's comments suggest a new original song is coming.

This marks Lamar's first solo release of 2025, following his sixth studio album GNX from November and his Grammy-winning Drake-diss track "Not Like Us," which earned him five awards.

The new Captain America film features Anthony Mackie taking over the titular role from Chris Evans, alongside a stellar cast including Harrison Ford, Giancarlo Esposito, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, and Tim Blake Nelson.
