Megadeth Signs With BLKIIBLK Records After Departing Universal Music Group - New Album Coming 2025
Megadeth has officially ended their partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG) and will release their upcoming 17th studio album through Frontiers Label Group's BLKIIBLK Records imprint.

The thrash metal pioneers' new album, currently untitled, is scheduled for release in fall or winter 2025. The band has already spent approximately 90 days in the studio working on the project, as revealed by frontman Dave Mustaine in a recent fan newsletter.
This move marks a significant shift for Megadeth, who released three studio albums through UMG and Mustaine's Tradecraft label between 2013 and 2022. The new partnership reunites Mustaine with Tom Lipsky, who previously worked with the band at Sanctuary Records during the releases of "The World Needs a Hero" (2001) and "The System Has Failed" (2004).
"When I first met Tom Lipsky and Bob Chiappardi back in the day I had no idea we would be working together again so many years in the future," said Mustaine. "I look forward to working with Serafino and the team in Italy and I can't wait for the fans to hear the songs from our new record."
BLKIIBLK Records, which focuses on "pushing the boundaries of heavy music," also represents artists such as Sick N' Beautiful and Biohazard. The label operates under Frontiers, a Naples-based company founded by Serafino Perugino nearly three decades ago.
Lipsky, who joined Frontiers as A&R head for North America in May, expressed enthusiasm about the signing: "The band is crushing it in the studio. Danny Nozell, Justis Mustaine, Steve Ross and the team at CTK are developing an incredible global plan, and our team is thrilled, primed and ready to shake up the world of hard rock and metal!"
Fans can catch Megadeth live at upcoming performances including Bonnaroo and Norway's Tons of Rock in June, followed by various European shows in October.
