The lawsuit, filed four months ago, was voluntarily dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled. The plaintiff claimed she was lured by a limousine driver outside the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards and subsequently assaulted at an afterparty.

Key inconsistencies in the case included:

  • Investigators couldn't locate the described property where the alleged assault occurred
  • Claims about musician Benji Madden's presence at the party were disproven, as he was touring in the Midwest at the time
  • The property description of a "large white house with a gated U-shaped driveway" couldn't be verified

Jay-Z firmly denied the allegations, stating through Roc Nation that they were "frivolous, fictitious, and appalling." He emphasized the trauma the accusations caused his family and called for courts to protect both victims and those falsely accused.

Separately, Sean "Diddy" Combs faces multiple other legal challenges, including federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He is currently in New York City jail awaiting a trial scheduled for May. His legal team maintains his innocence, stating that "Sean Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone" and expects other similar lawsuits to be dismissed.
