The Philippines and Vietnam are receiving their first-ever official, industry-backed charts. In the Philippines' inaugural weekly chart, Dionela topped the rankings with "Marilag," while Vietnamese artist Dương Domic led Vietnam's chart with "Mất Kết Nối." Notably, eight of Vietnam's top ten tracks were by local artists, demonstrating strong domestic market presence.
The charts for Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand will be rebranded under the IFPI banner. Each country's chart will showcase the top 20 tracks weekly, featuring both local and international artists.
These charts incorporate streaming data from major platforms including:
- Apple Music
- Deezer
- Spotify
- YouTube
- Regional services (e.g., Langit Musik)
The initiative is managed by IFPI in collaboration with national industry bodies:
- ASIRI (Indonesia)
- RIM (Malaysia)
- RIAS (Singapore)
- TECA (Thailand)
BMAT handles data preparation following IFPI's global charts principles and methodologies, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all markets.
Shridhar Subramaniam, President of Asia and Middle East at Sony Music Entertainment and Chairman of the IFPI Asia Regional Executive Board, emphasizes that this unified platform will serve as a launchpad for regional artists while providing fans with a centralized destination to explore Southeast Asian music.
