Grammy Week Survives LA Wildfires: Clive Davis Gala, MusiCares Events Push Forward Despite Cancellations
Despite widespread Grammy event cancellations due to Los Angeles wildfires, several significant Grammy-related events will proceed as planned.
Clive Davis' pre-Grammy gala, marking its 50th anniversary, will continue alongside the MusiCares Person of the Year event. Both events are backed by The Recording Academy and will incorporate charitable components to support wildfire relief efforts.
The Recording Academy and MusiCares have already pledged $1 million to assist music professionals affected by the fires. Grammy Awards CEO Harvey Mason Jr. confirmed the telecast will maintain a special focus on supporting wildfire relief and honoring first responders.

The MusiCares Person of the Year celebration, scheduled for January 31, will honor The Grateful Dead, featuring tributes to Jerry Garcia and Phil Lesh, along with recognition of surviving members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, and Bobby Weir. Previous honorees include Jon Bon Jovi, Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, and Joni Mitchell.
Major industry players including Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Sony Music Group, and Billboard have cancelled their Grammy-related events. While the 67th Annual Grammy Awards will proceed on February 2, the status of other Grammy week events, such as the Special Merit Awards, remains uncertain.
