During a charity event for the Elton John AIDS Foundation in London, John acknowledged his condition, stating, "I have lost my sight and I haven't been able to see the performance, but I have enjoyed listening to it." His husband, David Furnish, has been providing crucial support during this challenging period.
In a recent ABC News interview with Robin Roberts, John detailed how the infection has impacted his work: "I can't see a lyric for a start. We're taking an initiative to try and get better, but at the moment that's what we're really concentrating on. I can't read anything, I can't watch anything."
The condition has forced John to pause his recording plans, though he remains hopeful about recovery. Despite these challenges, fans can look forward to "Elton John: Never Too Late," a new documentary chronicling his life and career, premiering on Disney+ on December 13. The film, directed by R.J. Cutler and David Furnish, will feature iconic concert footage and personal reflections on his journey through the music industry.
