DJ Envy has received a subpoena in connection with a Ponzi scheme real estate case involving his former business partner Cesar Pina, who was arrested in October 2023 for wire fraud.

The radio personality must provide financial documents related to his dealings with Pina by January 8 or risk facing sanctions for contempt of court. DJ Envy, who promoted Pina's company on "The Breakfast Club," claims he lost $500,000 in the scheme after hiring Pina and his wife to convert a former school into an apartment building.

However, Pina disputes DJ Envy's victim status, stating during an Instagram Live stream that they were business partners in real estate seminars and transactions. This claim is particularly relevant to a separate lawsuit where two investors allege they were defrauded of $1.5 million in the unrealized apartment complex project.

The court filing states that if DJ Envy (Raashaun Casey), Cesar Pina, or Jennifer Iturralde Pina fail to provide complete responses to the requests, the trustee will file a notice of default, potentially leading to contempt charges.

Pina, who filed for bankruptcy in August, is accused of operating a fraudulent house-flipping business that allegedly defrauded investors of millions of dollars. The case continues to develop as investigators examine the extent of DJ Envy's involvement in the scheme.
