Damon Dash's Roc-A-Fella Records Stake Heads to Forced Auction Following $823K Judgment
Damon Dash's one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records will be auctioned on August 29 in New York City following a court order. The auction stems from an $823,000 judgment owed to movie producer Josh Webber, who won a defamation and copyright infringement lawsuit against Dash in 2022 over the film Dear Frank.

The auction, overseen by the United States Marshals Service, will take place at a Midtown Manhattan hotel. Interested buyers must bid a minimum of $1.2 million and provide a $240,000 deposit to participate.
Fellow Roc-A-Fella Records co-owners Jay-Z and Kareem 'Biggs' Burke have contested the auction, citing company bylaws requiring board approval for any share transfers. However, Magistrate Judge Robert W. Lehrburger ruled that Dash's stake qualifies as a personal asset that can be seized for debt payment.
The sale proceeds will also address Dash's $145,096 in unpaid child support owed to Rachel Roy and Cindy Morales for three children. Judge Lehrburger emphasized that federal court judgment enforcement is essential to maintain complete judicial power as intended by the Constitution.
