Sony Music is releasing an unprecedented Bob Dylan collection titled "Bob Dylan — The 1974 Live Recordings," featuring recordings from his historic 1974 tour with The Band. The massive 27-CD boxed set includes 417 previously unreleased tracks plus 12 tracks from the original "Before the Flood" album.

The collection will be available on September 20 via Columbia/Legacy. While a complete vinyl version isn't planned due to the extensive size (requiring approximately 50 records), Third Man Records will release a special condensed vinyl edition. This three-LP set with a 7-inch single will feature unique versions of songs not included in "Before the Flood."

Collectors interested in the Third Man Records vinyl edition must subscribe to their Vault subscription service before July 31. The vinyl release, pressed on green vinyl, will be titled "The 1974 Live Recordings — The Missing Songs From Before the Flood."

This release stands separate from Dylan's "Bootleg Series," following the format of the 14-CD "Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1975 Live Recordings" from 2019. While substantial, the new collection is smaller than "The 1966 Live Recordings," which spanned 36 discs.
