Artone Group Acquires UK's Proper Music Distribution in Strategic Takeover

Artone and Drew Hill have acquired Proper Music Group's assets, including Proper Music Distribution—the UK's leading independent music physical distributor. The acquisition occurred after joint administrators were appointed to Proper Music Group on February 27.

The deal encompasses shares of all PMG companies, including:

This strategic acquisition enables clients of both PMD and Artone to access comprehensive pan-European services, including:

  • Production
  • Packaging
  • Retail operations
  • Direct-to-consumer sales

Drew Hill, who has led Proper Music Distribution for over 18 years, will continue as Managing Director. The company currently serves over 5,000 independent labels and service companies.

  • New multi-year lease signed for PMD's Dartford warehouse
  • Separation from Proper Group AG (formerly Utopia Music AG)
