Amazon has invested an additional $4 billion in AI startup Anthropic, bringing its total investment to $8 billion while maintaining a minority stake in the company.

The partnership focuses on developing advanced AI capabilities through close collaboration between Anthropic and AWS's Annapurna Labs. They are working on optimizing Trainium accelerators and enhancing machine learning hardware through direct kernel programming and improvements to the AWS Neuron software stack.
