The proposed plea deal included:
- 3 years probation
- 7-year suspended prison sentence
- 180 days in county jail
The rapper faces two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm stemming from a November 6, 2021 incident where he allegedly shot at Terell Ephron (A$AP Relli), who claims bullets grazed his knuckles.
Rocky's attorney, Joe Tacopina, states they have two witnesses prepared to testify that the gun seen in security footage was a prop carried for security purposes. Tacopina expressed confidence in an acquittal, noting Rocky is willing to testify if needed.
Despite potential impacts on his upcoming projects, including his role as Met Gala celebrity chair and participation in a Spike Lee film with Denzel Washington, Rocky declined the plea deal with a simple "I respectfully decline, thank you" to the judge.
The case highlights the deterioration of Rocky's relationship with childhood friend Ephron, which ultimately led to the confrontation under investigation. The trial will proceed with both sides prepared to present their cases before a jury.
