
YouTube and Google Pledge $15 Million for Los Angeles Wildfire Recovery
Google and YouTube have pledged $15 million to support Los Angeles fire relief efforts through various organizations, including Emergency Network Los Angeles, American Red Cross, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, and the Institute for Nonprofit News.

YouTube will also provide production facilities to affected creators and artists once it's safe to reopen regional offices, along with hosting community events to support recovery efforts.
YouTube CEO Neal Mohan emphasized Los Angeles's significance as an entertainment hub, stating, "Los Angeles is the heart of entertainment and storytelling and has an impact on culture all over the world."
Other major tech companies have also contributed to relief efforts:
- Snap: $5 million in immediate aid from CEO Evan Spiegel, co-founder Bobby Murphy, and the company
- Meta: $4 million combined donation from Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, including $2 million in cash and advertising credits
- Additional support from Disney, Comcast, Paramount, Universal, Netflix, Amazon, and Warner Bros. Discovery
Meta has also activated its Safety Check feature, which over 400,000 people have used to inform family and friends of their safety during the crisis.
