YouTube and CAA Join Forces to Combat AI Deepfakes of Celebrities
YouTube is partnering with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to develop AI deepfake detection and removal tools, giving talent more control over their digital likeness.
The collaboration will provide early-stage technology to identify and manage AI-generated content featuring CAA talent's likeness. CAA's roster of influential figures, including actors and athletes from the NBA and NFL, will test the technology starting early next year.

Key features of the partnership include:
- AI-generated content detection systems
- Streamlined privacy complaint process
- Direct feedback from CAA talent to improve the technology
- Protection of creators' creative control
YouTube CEO Neal Mohan emphasizes that responsible AI development requires strong partnerships, while CAA CEO Bryan Lourd highlights the importance of protecting artists' rights while enabling creative expression.
The initiative represents YouTube's first step in a broader testing effort to create a responsible AI ecosystem that balances creative potential with talent protection.
CAA will work closely with YouTube to ensure the technology effectively serves both individual talent needs and the broader creative community's interests.
