Young Thug's father, Jeffrey Williams Sr., expressed mixed feelings about his son's plea deal, stating he wanted him to continue fighting the case despite being relieved about his release from jail.

Speaking to Atlanta's 11Alive, Williams Sr. admitted being startled by the decision to enter a non-negotiated guilty plea. "I wanted him to keep fighting. Let's make them continue to embarrass themselves," he said, while emphasizing his ongoing support for his son's decisions.
A major point of contention in the plea deal is the 10-year ban from Metro Atlanta. Williams Sr. strongly opposes this restriction, stating, "I'm totally against that, because this is where he's from. To have a district attorney take that away from him is offensive to me."
Throughout the YSL case, Williams Sr. has been a vocal supporter of both his son and other YSL members, including Gunna. He defended Gunna when the rapper faced criticism for taking an Alford plea, highlighting the immense pressure the legal system placed on the YSL family.
Despite his disagreement with the plea deal, Williams Sr. remains optimistic about his son's future. "I feel great that he's going home, but at the same time, I still want him to fight, but that's his decision. I raised him to be the man that he is," he stated, emphasizing his lifelong commitment to supporting his son through any challenges ahead.
