Travis Scott Arrested in Paris After Hotel Security Guard Altercation
Travis Scott was arrested in Paris early Friday morning after an altercation with a security guard outside the George V hotel, according to a statement from Paris prosecutors.
The incident reportedly began when the security guard attempted to intervene between Scott and his bodyguard. TMZ footage shows police dragging Scott away from the hotel and placing him in a police vehicle before transferring him to an ambulance. During the altercation, several vases were reportedly broken inside the hotel.
Sources suggest the incident was triggered by paparazzi pursuing Scott throughout Paris. The rapper had reportedly become agitated and reacted violently in the hotel lobby, prompting staff to contact authorities. Scott currently remains in police custody but has not been charged.
Melissa Nathan, Scott's representative, stated to Deadline: "We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate."
The incident occurred shortly after Scott attended the Olympics USA vs. Serbia men's basketball semifinal match. Earlier that evening, he had unsuccessfully sought police assistance to clear a path through crowds of fans and paparazzi.
This arrest follows a recent legal issue where Scott had a disorderly intoxication charge dropped from a June yacht incident in Florida. He still faces a misdemeanor trespassing charge, with trial scheduled for September 10.
