Despite recent app store bans and a temporary shutdown, TikTok's traffic in the US has largely recovered to near-normal levels, according to Cloudflare Radar data. The platform's DNS traffic is currently only about 10% lower than pre-shutdown levels, despite being offline for 14 hours and remaining unavailable on Google and Apple app stores.

The shutdown occurred after the Supreme Court upheld a law requiring ByteDance to divest TikTok's US operations or face a ban. While competitor apps like RedNote saw brief traffic spikes during TikTok's downtime, these increases quickly diminished once TikTok returned online.

President Trump postponed the ban's enforcement by signing an executive order extending the deadline to April 5. Since then, several high-profile investors, including Frank McCourt, Kevin O'Leary, and YouTube star MrBeast, have expressed interest in acquiring TikTok's US operations. Trump has also mentioned Elon Musk and Oracle chairman Larry Ellison as potential partial owners.

Despite the uncertainty, content creators continue to thrive on TikTok, though some have diversified to platforms like YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. Meta has been actively courting creators with promotional deals to prioritize Instagram content.

The platform's resilience during this period demonstrates the strong user loyalty TikTok has built, even as regulatory challenges persist and competitors attempt to capture its market share.
