Multiple fans have reported receiving unexpected emails from Ticketmaster informing them that their tickets were transferred to other accounts without their consent. While some cases have been resolved after media intervention, many victims remain unresolved, with losses reaching thousands of dollars.
Some resolved cases have experienced recurring issues, with tickets reverting to unauthorized accounts. Affected customers are being instructed to wait until three days before their show date for ticket restoration.
Ticketmaster's Security Measures:
- Claims digital ticketing has reduced fraud compared to paper tickets
- Recommends using strong, unique passwords
- Lacks two-factor authentication for account logins and transfers
- Recently experienced a data breach exposing user information
- Uses 2FA only for ticket printing and email changes
The Eras Tour resumes October 18 in Miami, followed by Canadian shows including six in Toronto and three in Vancouver this December.
