The teaser shows Shaboozey enjoying Nerds Gummy Clusters while playing guitar, joined by a Nerds character on stage. The musician also contributed to the ad's musical composition. Reflecting on his childhood connection to the brand, Shaboozey shared his excitement about finding Nerds in his Halloween candy collection.
Greg Guidotti, Ferrara's chief marketing officer, reports that last year's Super Bowl ad helped Nerds increase market share by 4.3 percentage points. With current household penetration at 25.1%, the brand sees significant growth potential. The ad will compete with other major snack brands, including Doritos and Pringles, during the broadcast, where 30-second spots are commanding over $7 million.
Nerds, introduced in 1983 under the Wonka brand name, is now part of Ferrara's portfolio along with Laffy Taffy, SweeTarts, Bottle Caps, and recently acquired Jelly Belly (2023).
