The charges include:
- Scheme to defraud
- Identity theft
- Grand theft
- Related financial crimes
According to Broward County Sheriff's Office warrants, the pair allegedly stole:
- Nearly $500,000 in jewelry
- Over $200,000 from Bank of America
- Over $100,000 from First Republic Bank
- $160,000 from a Cadillac dealer
- $86,000 from a customized bed maker
Kingston, 34, was arrested in California on May 23 and subsequently extradited to Florida. A SWAT team arrested Turner, 61, at Kingston's rented Fort Lauderdale mansion the same day.
This isn't the first brush with the law for either party. Kingston is currently serving a two-year probation for trafficking stolen property. Turner previously served 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to bank fraud involving $160,000 in 2006.
Their attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, states they are "confident of a successful resolution" and will address the charges in Florida court.
Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, is best known for his 2007 No. 1 hit "Beautiful Girls" and his collaboration with Justin Bieber on "Eenie Meenie."
