NFL Maintains Partnership with Jay-Z Amid Sexual Assault Lawsuit
The NFL is maintaining its partnership with Jay-Z and Roc Nation despite recent rape allegations, according to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's statement following the league's winter meetings.
The allegations stem from a lawsuit filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents over 200 clients in sexual assault cases against Sean "Diddy" Combs. One plaintiff, who was allegedly 13 years old at the time, recently amended her lawsuit to include claims that Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) participated in her assault at a 2000 awards show afterparty.

Jay-Z has strongly denied these allegations, characterizing them as part of an extortion scheme. He has filed a countersuit against Buzbee and requested the anonymous plaintiff reveal her identity to proceed with litigation.
The NFL's relationship with Jay-Z's Roc Nation, established in 2019, will continue unchanged. The partnership covers event production, including the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and social justice initiatives. Roc Nation is currently producing the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show featuring Kendrick Lamar at The Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9.
Goodell praised Roc Nation's contributions, particularly in social justice areas, stating, "They've been great partners." Additionally, Jay-Z's wife Beyoncé is scheduled to perform at the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans Christmas game.
