Meta Offers TikTok Stars Up to $50,000 Monthly to Switch to Instagram Reels
Meta is aggressively targeting TikTok influencers with lucrative contracts to create exclusive content for Instagram Reels. According to Business Insider's investigation of the contracts, Meta is offering monthly payments ranging from $2,500 to $50,000.

The payment structure is organized into five tiers:
- Tier 1: $50,000 per month
- Tier 2: $25,000 per month
- Tier 3: $15,000 per month
- Tier 4: $5,000 per month
- Tier 5: $2,500 per month
Key contract requirements include:
- Posting 10 new Reels monthly
- Three-month exclusivity period
- Videos must be 15 seconds to 3 minutes long
- 25% more content on Reels than other platforms
- Converting two Reels monthly into Instagram Stories
- Bi-monthly promotion of Instagram Reels on primary platforms
Meta is primarily targeting creators with over one million TikTok followers. One notable offer included $300,000 for six months of content creation.
However, not all influencers are enthusiastic about these offers. Some Gen Z creators have labeled the deal as "cheugy" (cringe), while talent managers have expressed concerns about the content tracking requirements and platform restrictions.
The initiative comes as TikTok faces uncertainty in the United States market, with the app currently unavailable in U.S. app stores and ongoing discussions about potential U.S. ownership.
Meta has not officially commented on these payment arrangements for TikTok influencers.
