Martin Shkreli Sued Over Leaking Secret Wu-Tang Album After $4.75M Sale
Digital art collective PleasrDAO is suing Martin Shkreli for allegedly releasing MP3s of Wu-Tang Clan's unique album "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin" after his release from prison in May 2022.

The lawsuit claims that Shkreli, who purchased the album for $2 million in 2015, violated the forfeiture order by sharing copies of the album on social media and hosting a "Wu-Tang official listening party" livestream. PleasrDAO, which later acquired the album for $4.75 million, argues these actions significantly diminish the album's value.
Key Points:
- Shkreli admitted playing the album on YouTube despite its sale
- PleasrDAO demands destruction of copies and compensation for damages
- The album was originally forfeited as part of Shkreli's $7.4 million asset forfeiture following his 2017 fraud conviction
Background on Shkreli:
- Known as "Pharma Bro" for raising Daraprim's price from $13.50 to $750 per pill
- Banned from pharmaceutical industry in 2022
- Ordered to pay $65 million for antitrust violations
- Released early from seven-year sentence, currently under supervised release
