In the video titled "I got fired thank God," Doechii displays remarkable resilience, stating, "I have nothing to lose. I have no place, I have no job, I have no children. Who gives a f—k?" She shares her plans to visit recording studios seeking internships and opportunities.
Following this setback, Doechii's career skyrocketed. She self-funded her debut EP "Oh The Places You'll Go" that same year, released two more EPs in 2021 and 2022, and secured a significant deal with Top Dawg Entertainment.
Her 2024 mixtape "Alligator Bites Never Heal" earned her the Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2025, alongside a Best New Artist nomination. She was also nominated for Best Rap Performance for "Nissan Altima."
During her Grammy acceptance speech, Doechii delivered an inspiring message to Black women: "I know that there is some Black girl out there, so many Black women out there that are watching me right now, and I want to tell you: You can do it. Anything is possible."
The artist showcased her talent at the 2025 Grammy ceremony with performances of her hits "Catfish" and "Denial is a River," cementing her position as a rising force in the music industry.
