Gateway Center Arena Cancels Bassnectar's April Shows Amid Sexual Abuse Lawsuit
Following sexual assault allegations, Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia has canceled two scheduled Bassnectar shows originally planned for April 2024. The venue cited community safety concerns as the primary reason for cancellation.
The allegations stem from an April 2021 lawsuit where two women accused Lorin Ashton (Bassnectar) of sexual abuse of minors, human trafficking, and child pornography. Two additional women later joined the lawsuit, though one withdrew when required to reveal her identity. The case remains in discovery, with trial scheduled for February 2025.

Ashton's legal team maintains his innocence, stating he "has always denied these outrageous and offensive allegations" and has never been charged or found liable. They characterize the venue's decision as "mob-driven" and an example of "cancel culture gone mad."
This isn't the first cancellation Bassnectar has faced. Similar shows were canceled at Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina in October. However, the artist has successfully performed sold-out shows in Las Vegas and New York City during his recent comeback tour.
