Days before Australia's long-running Earthcore Festival is set to begin on November 23rd, multiple artists are withdrawing due to payment issues, potentially jeopardizing the entire event.

DJ duo Coming Soon and Phaxe announced their cancellation on Facebook, citing unpaid fees and unbooked flights. According to Coming Soon, this marks unprecedented treatment in their 15-year career, prompting them to advise fans to request ticket refunds.

The duo claims over 10 more artists will withdraw for similar payment issues. They allege the festival promoter knowingly advertised artists without the means to pay them, using their names to boost ticket sales.

Earthcore organizers attempted to attribute these cancellations to "double-booking" issues on their Facebook page, though no other scheduled performers have confirmed this explanation.

This potential collapse follows a challenging year for music festivals globally, including:

  • Fyre Festival's dramatic failure
  • Pemberton Music Festival's bankruptcy
  • The Gathering festival's alleged mismanagement
  • Route 91 Festival's tragic end

Earthcore, founded in 1992, previously reached its peak in 2000 with 45,000 attendees at its seven-day EDM event.
