Catalog investor Duetti has secured $114 million in new funding, comprising an $80 million asset-backed securitization through Barclays and $34 million in equity financing from Flexpoint Ford, Nyca Partners, and Viola Ventures. This brings Duetti's total funding to over $235 million since launch.
The funding will be used to:
- Purchase additional music catalogs
- Enhance proprietary technology for forecasting, pricing, and marketing
- Expand operations to Los Angeles and Miami
- Provide more financing options for independent artists
Duetti specializes in acquiring music tracks that are:
- At least two years old
- Generate 500,000+ annual streams
- Come from independent artists outside major label systems
"We are leading the way in educating the capital markets on the significant long-term value of the independent music sector," stated Lior Tibon, Duetti's co-founder and CEO. The company aims to provide expanded funding options for independent artists as their numbers continue to grow rapidly.
This securitization marks the first instance of independent music rights being securitized with institutional Wall Street investors, following Concord's recent ABS deal. The funding positions Duetti to offer more diverse and efficient financing solutions while pursuing various marketing and sync opportunities.
