Engblom has undergone seven ERCP procedures over 18 months, with recent complications including pancreatitis and sepsis. Currently restricted to Stockholm, he awaits a compatible liver donor – a process that could take anywhere from one day to two years.
Despite facing a minimum two-year touring hiatus and requiring lifelong immunosuppressant medication post-transplant, Engblom remains optimistic, stating, "This is not the end; it's the beginning of an upgraded version of myself."
Dada Life, known for their energetic electro house music, banana-themed performances, and hits like "Feed the Dada" and "Born to Rage," continues as a brand during Stefan's recovery. The duo has also made significant contributions to music production through their popular audio plugins, including the "Sausage Fattener" and "Endless Smile."
While Stefan focuses on his health journey, fans worldwide anticipate his return to the stage. His transparency about his condition has inspired widespread support from the electronic music community, demonstrating the lasting impact of Dada Life's legacy in dance music.
