Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show sparked controversy due to its heavy focus on his ongoing feud with Drake, according to radio personality Charlamagne Tha God.

Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne criticized Lamar's decision to perform "Not Like Us," his Grammy-winning Drake diss track, suggesting the artist should have showcased more of his extensive catalog instead.

"Kendrick is bigger than 'Not Like Us.' It's a moment in time for Kendrick; it does not define him or who he is," Charlamagne stated. He also expressed concern about Lamar's victory message, warning against going "past the mark you aim for in victory."

During the 13-minute performance, Lamar addressed the ongoing legal threats from Drake's team regarding the song. While he censored the word "pedophile," he maintained other controversial Drake references, including "Say Drake, I hear you like 'em young" and "Tryna strike a chord and it's probably A minor."

The show featured notable appearances from Drake's former girlfriends, including a duet with SZA and a surprise cameo from Serena Williams, who performed a crip walk on an elevated stage.

Despite the controversy, the performance broke viewership records, reaching 135.7 million viewers during the second half - surpassing both Usher's recent record and Michael Jackson's iconic 1993 performance.
