Canadian Hacker Behind Massive Snowflake Data Breach Targeting Ticketmaster Arrested
A Canadian suspect behind the massive Snowflake hack affecting Ticketmaster has been arrested. The hack impacted over 165 Snowflake instances across major companies including AT&T, Ticketmaster, and LendingTree.
Hacker arrested over Ticketmaster data breach
The Canadian Department of Justice confirmed that Alexander Moucka (also known as Connor Moucka) was arrested on October 30, 2024, following a request from the United States. The suspect previously operated under the alias "Judsiche" and had mentioned concerns about imminent arrest to 404 Media.
The hack severely impacted Ticketmaster's operations, leading to:
- Multiple extortion attempts
- Unauthorized release of Taylor Swift concert tickets
- Claims of ability to generate 30 million barcodes for high-profile events
- Widespread reports of missing tickets from customer accounts
In response, Ticketmaster implemented security measures, including temporarily suspending the resale of Taylor Swift tickets until just before event dates. The company has processed thousands of customer complaints regarding missing tickets.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on November 5, 2024, following an initial court appearance on the day of arrest.
